Celebrating Failures 💫

Dear Ones,
"Opposite values are complimentary" said an enlightened MASTER & it took me many years to appreciate this knowledge.

As much, as it is exciting to come up with that yummy recipe & click the perfect shot to post, knowing fully well that there were those disasters in the making, gives me confidence and strength to keep moving...
So here is to all those burnt cakes, uncooked pan cakes, extremely healthy but largely rejected cookies...its these failures that are the stepping stones to wow moments in my cooking.
Sharing some instances, enjoy & don't let a "not yet well made dish", define you...

BURNT CAKE..
Nothing could beat this one...even the ants didn't bother to touch it, when left overnight...
Lesson : Don't over Preheat the oven 120Degrees is just good for vegetarian & Vegan Cakes a the protein and binding agents cook faster :)

GOOEY COOKIES...
Well no one likes these & the only place they seem perfect is the bin...
Lesson : Don't make your cookie dough too watery, it needs to be firm and definitely needs butter to make them crunchy :)

CURDLED MILK...

Lesson: Its a good idea to boil and cool your milk before you venture inn making shakes, specially when the weather is HOT & HUMID.
My mum thinks this is a no brainer, but I learnt it the Curdled way :)

KETCHUP & JAMS with Fungus...
Imagine all the efforts of washing, peeling stirING & stirING & stirING of that fruit pulp, you want to make a sauce or Jam or marmalade. I had the bestttt ingredients but didn't pay attention to detail like, amt of salt & sugar & cooking the fruits till the water vaporises.
Lesson: I make the sauces & Jams v thick after cooking it well on a medium flame & dilute it only when needed, don't forget to refrigerate it when not in use.

& so many other dishes that didn't turn out the way I dreamt of them or wanted them to turn out or the dish was not appreciated in-spite of all efforts...so what did I do?
either I kept trying, learning, making notes, introspecting after meditation OR JUST STOP COOKING...
The later was not an option if I wanted to be proud of myself...
Feel Free to post what your learnings in cooking have been...
