Introduction & Advantages of Ragi
- Ragi is a whole grain that is gluten-free and a staple in some parts of South India
- It is rich in fibre that helps with weight loss and diabetes
- its is consumed as a food during fasting in north an is known as Nachni
- It is packed with amino acids, good carbs, iron, calcium and Vitamin D

To prepare Ragi Ladoos you need :
- Ragi Flour (preferred popped ragi flour or you can roast Ragi flour = 1Cup
- coarsely ground Pumpkin seeds = 1 table spoon
- coarsely ground almonds = 1 tea spoon
- chia seeds = 1/2 teaspoon
- cow ghee from Indian Cows = 1 table spoon
- freshly grated coconut = 1 tablespoon
- honey to bind and as a sweetener
Roast Ragi flour on low flame with pumpkin seeds, almonds and chia seeds
after cooling add ghee (heated) and honey
make round balls and if needed you can refrigerate them for half an hour before serving.
Serving suggestions & notes.
- Ragi Ladoos can be eaten in the morning along with milk or hot drink (unrefrigerated)
- can be served as a dessert or as a sweet in children's parties
- the combination of pure honey and roasted ground pumpkin seeds are excellent for deworming and detoxing the gut
- while raw desiccated coconut adds flavour it is also rich in dietary fibre, which may boost your health by supporting digestion, boosting metabolism, and normalizing bowel movements. ...
