The Power of One
If I had to live with a thousand me in the form of my Husband Son parents in laws helper, my office staff, n every single person I met : I'd go crazy. There is solace in knowing that I'm so unique & perfect just the way I am & that realisation gives me peace & strength to accept others for who they are. Gurudev has spoken about respecting diversity in so many talks & so many occasions, it's the reason I see Art Of Living thriving under all circumstances inspite of all prejudices & pressures. It's this basic truth that binds us to who we really are beyond every possible identity our small mind has created of us & others around. But even though I might have this wisdom glaring at me, the small mind gets it's kick by dividing & looking at every person & situation with pre conceived notions. For instance if I walk into a restaurant & wobble or trip - this makes me terribly embarrassed, at the same time I see a group of friends laughing on joke, if I'm not centered I'm going to be damn sure that they are all laughing at what happened to me & they would be imprinted in my consciousness as enemies at least until the time that I erase it through meditation. This is just one such instance & it could go on day in and day out. Joining the dots for absolutely unrelated events that might occur simultaneously, only to realise in a cleaner state that it was false. Inspite of meditating regularly v might find ourselves entrapped with unpleasant situations and easily associate it with people we think responsible, this in turn robs our true & pure self of exploring spiritual growth with beings the Guru has chosen to be on this path with us. As I share this a thousand excuses for not being the true self at every given moment shouts at a cluttered mind. With every passing excuse the path towards light becomes tougher strewn with stubborn weeds of ignorance. As a meditator it takes more effort to work our way to this path of ignorance & it takes more responsibility than it does to a mind that is full of concepts. This responsibility for seekers & devotees is not just about taking time out to meditate, if it's just that, it's just another routine like brushing or bathing. It's the will of the spirit to erase misunderstandings & miscommunication to find harmony peace & Joy in the situations created by the master. It's tough, it's tiring, it's very tricky initially but with the Sankalpa of meditating minds coming together it's doable & in fact only we can unite through diversity. Not only do we have the manifestation of Divine to look upto but we also have His innumerable tools & techniques to explore & personalise to help us rise beyond the mundane...as impossible as it may seem, He has chosen us to do so, on the occasion of this Guru Purnima let Sangachatwam our true nature shine through. Let's overlook personal opinions to come together to make an impactful & sustainable difference to our society, let's do our part to be with His magnanimous self...let's plunge into Sadhana Seva Satsang & celebration together cause everything else is changing...Happy Guru Purnima dear all 🙏🏻
